If you have a team or just a collection of employees, you would have no doubt come across the notion that perhaps everyone is in it for themselves. So, the key is to work on creating a team that can play a game, the game of business. We have to acknowledge that employees have their private lives and needs and despite your best efforts to appease them, they can move on just as quickly as they came. The game needs to have objectives and in many cases incentives to ensure that these outcomes can be measured. The key is not to get too attached to employees as they just might disappoint you too much when you’re not ready for it. Aim for high performance rather then your or their complacency and you will have greater results from your team.
