There were various phases since March 2020 and we’re not 100% out of the woods yet, but plenty of time has passed and we’ve all been through the roller coaster.
I’ve seen a lot in human behaviour, from self combustion to amazing resilience, positivity and care. The human spirit in the main has shone and from this small business owners have learnt how flexible and versatile they can get.
Yes, the government has stepped in to help out, but this is not a normal situation. Even the government has shown that when it’s that big, they can come up with strategies to keep things going.
For some sectors and geographical areas the recovery will be slow and others have rebounded incredibly, remembering that there were also sectors which were unaffected and some flourished from this unprecedented situation.
Anyway, the most important thing is to focus on what you can control. How did you fare? How did you respond? Are you proud of how you handled yourself with employees, customers and suppliers?
Will you take these learnings to make a permanent better YOU? I hope so. If all of us are better for the learning experience, aim to find the good in it all and make it permanent.
